Arthur Capper was a prominent American politician and publisher who served as the 20th Governor of Kansas from 1915 to 1919. He later represented Kansas in the United States Senate for five consecutive terms, holding office from 1919 to 1949. A member of the Republican Party, Capper was known as a leader of the 'farm bloc' in Congress, championing agricultural interests and rural America. Beyond his political career, he built a vast and influential publishing empire that included numerous newspapers and magazines, such as Capper's Weekly.
