Bernard Hinault is a French former professional cyclist who is widely regarded as one of the greatest riders in the history of the sport. Nicknamed 'Le Blaireau' (The Badger) for his aggressive and tenacious racing style, he dominated professional cycling in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Hinault is one of only five cyclists to have won all three Grand Tours: the Tour de France five times, the Giro d'Italia three times, and the Vuelta a España twice. After retiring in 1986 while still at the top of his game, he remained an influential figure in the cycling world.
