Charles W. Colson was an American attorney and political advisor who served as Special Counsel to President Richard Nixon from 1969 to 1973. Known as Nixon's "hatchet man," he was a key figure in the Watergate scandal and pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice, serving seven months in prison. While incarcerated, Colson had a profound religious conversion and became an evangelical Christian, dedicating his life to ministry. He subsequently founded Prison Fellowship, a global nonprofit for prisoners and their families, and became a prominent author and commentator on the Christian worldview.
