Ethel Rosenberg

“I am a victim of the oldest passion in the world—the passion of greed and the lust for power.”

“So we are to be sacrificed, and in a very real sense, we are the first American victims of World War III.”

“My husband and I will die with honor, if we must, for the sake of our beliefs.”

“We are the first victims of American fascism.”

“They are trying to make us scapegoats for the evils of a whole world.”

“If we are executed it will be the murder of innocent people and the shame will be upon the Government of the United States.”

“This death sentence is not surprising. It had to be. There had to be a Rosenberg case because there had to be an atom bomb spy.”

“I can only say that my husband is a devoted and loving husband and father, and I can't believe that he would do anything that would harm his country.”

“The thought that my sons will be deprived of their parents is a constant torment to me.”

“I am innocent... I have been wronged... and I want the world to know the truth.”

“I cry for myself, for the children, for all the bewildered, frightened people.”

“History will record, I am sure, that we were the victims of the most monstrous frame-up in the history of our country.”

“We are innocent, as we have proclaimed and maintained from the time of our arrest.”
