Sportswriter

Henry Chadwick was an English-born American sportswriter, statistician, and historian, widely known as the "Father of Baseball." He was instrumental in the early development of the game, creating the box score, and compiling the first rule books. Chadwick's advocacy for a "moral" game helped shape baseball's public image and its status as America's national pastime. For his immense contributions, he was posthumously inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1938.
