Hugo Ball was a German author, poet, and a pivotal figure in the early 20th-century avant-garde. He is best known as one of the founders of the Dada movement and the author of the Dada Manifesto. In 1916, he co-founded the Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich, which became the center of Dadaist activities and performances. His work often explored the irrational and nonsensical, challenging conventional artistic and social values of his time.
