Jack Thomas Chick was a controversial American cartoonist and publisher, widely known for his fundamentalist Christian tracts. He founded Chick Publications in 1970, which has since distributed millions of his small, comic-book-style evangelical pamphlets known as 'Chick tracts.' His work often focused on themes of salvation, damnation, and conspiracy theories, frequently targeting Catholicism, homosexuality, and other groups he deemed un-Christian. Despite widespread criticism for their content and tone, his tracts became a notable and persistent element of 20th and 21st-century religious pop culture.
