John Chrysostom

Theologian

John Chrysostom was an important Early Church Father who served as Archbishop of Constantinople. He is renowned for his powerful preaching and public speaking, which earned him the name Chrysostomos, meaning 'golden-mouthed'. His sermons and writings denounced the abuse of wealth and power by both political and religious leaders. He remains one of the most prolific authors in the early Christian church, second only to Augustine of Hippo in the quantity of his surviving writings.
