Larry Flynt was a controversial American publisher and the head of Larry Flynt Publications (LFP), best known for the pornographic magazine Hustler. He launched the magazine in 1974, pushing the boundaries of explicit content and becoming a polarizing figure in American culture. Flynt fought numerous high-profile legal battles involving the First Amendment, most notably the landmark Supreme Court case Hustler Magazine v. Falwell. His life, including an assassination attempt that left him paralyzed, was chronicled in the 1996 film The People vs. Larry Flynt.
