Raymond Duncan was an American artist, philosopher, and dancer, and the brother of the famous dancer Isadora Duncan. He was a prominent figure in the Parisian art scene, known for his promotion of a Hellenic lifestyle and philosophy. Duncan founded a school, the Akademia, where he taught dance, arts, and crafts based on ancient Greek ideals. He lived his philosophy publicly, famously wearing only hand-woven tunics and sandals throughout his life in modern Paris.
