Roger Wilkins was a prominent American civil rights leader, activist, and journalist whose work profoundly influenced the nation's political and social landscape. He served as an Assistant Attorney General during the Johnson administration, becoming one of the highest-ranking African Americans in government at the time. As a journalist for The Washington Post, he, along with Carl Bernstein, Bob Woodward, and Herblock, won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service in 1973 for their coverage of the Watergate scandal. Throughout his life, Wilkins remained a dedicated advocate for racial and social justice, also serving as a professor of history at George Mason University.
