Spencer Dryden was an American musician, best known as the drummer for the psychedelic rock band Jefferson Airplane. He joined the band in 1966, performing on their most influential albums including 'Surrealistic Pillow' and 'Crown of Creation'. After leaving Jefferson Airplane in 1970, he went on to play with other notable groups such as New Riders of the Purple Sage. In 1996, Dryden was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his significant contributions with Jefferson Airplane.
