Playwright

Ugo Betti was an influential Italian judge, poet, and playwright. Considered by many to be the most significant Italian dramatist after Pirandello, he explored themes of justice, guilt, and moral redemption. His most famous play, 'Corruzione al Palazzo di Giustizia' (Corruption in the Palace of Justice), reflects his background in law and deep concern with the human condition. Throughout his career, Betti wrote over 25 plays that grappled with existential and theological questions resonating with post-war audiences.
