Adolf Eichmann was a German Nazi SS-Obersturmbannführer and one of the major organizers of the Holocaust. He was tasked by Reinhard Heydrich with facilitating and managing the logistics of the mass deportation of Jews to ghettos and extermination camps. After World War II, Eichmann fled and lived in Argentina under a false name until he was captured by Israeli Mossad agents in 1960. He was tried in Israel on 15 criminal charges, including war crimes and crimes against humanity, found guilty, and executed by hanging in 1962.
