Aeschines

Statesman

Aeschines was a prominent Greek statesman and one of the ten Attic orators. Born in Athens, he initially pursued a career as an actor before turning to politics. He was a major political rival of Demosthenes, and their feud dominated Athenian politics, culminating in famous legal speeches like 'On the Crown.' After his political defeat, he retired to Rhodes where he established a school of rhetoric and spent the remainder of his life.
