George Pratt Shultz was an influential American economist, businessman, and statesman who served in multiple high-level government positions. He is one of only two individuals to have served in four different U.S. Cabinet posts, including Secretary of Labor, Director of the Office of Management and Budget, and Secretary of the Treasury. His most prominent role was as the 60th U.S. Secretary of State under President Ronald Reagan, where he played a key role in shaping foreign policy that helped to end the Cold War. After leaving public service, Shultz remained an important voice in foreign policy and business, serving on numerous boards and as a fellow at the Hoover Institution.
