Graphic Designer

Harvey Ross Ball was a distinguished American commercial artist best known for creating the iconic smiley face. In 1963, he designed the simple yellow circle with two dots and a curve for an insurance company to boost employee morale. He was paid only $45 for the design, which he never trademarked, and it subsequently became a worldwide symbol of happiness and goodwill. Ball later founded the World Smile Foundation, which sponsors World Smile Day to encourage acts of kindness globally.
