Judge

Lionel Murphy was a prominent Australian politician, judge, and Attorney-General. As Attorney-General in the Whitlam government, he initiated significant legal reforms, including the Family Law Act 1975 which established no-fault divorce. His later career was overshadowed by controversy and allegations of attempting to pervert the course of justice, of which he was ultimately acquitted shortly before his death.
