Tipper Gore is an American author, photographer, and activist who served as the Second Lady of the United States from 1993 to 2001. Born Mary Elizabeth Aitcheson, she became a prominent public figure during her husband Al Gore's political career, where she was a vocal advocate for mental health awareness. She co-founded the Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC) in 1985, which aimed to increase parental control over children's access to music with explicit content. Throughout her life, she has also pursued her passion for photography, publishing several books of her work and capturing moments of American life.
