Georges Clemenceau

Statesman

Georges Clemenceau was a prominent French statesman, physician, and journalist who served as the Prime Minister of France from 1906 to 1909 and again from 1917 to 1920. A key figure of the French Third Republic, he was a leader of the Radical Party and played a central role in the politics of the era. His uncompromising leadership during the latter stages of World War I earned him the affectionate nickname "Le Tigre" (The Tiger). After the war, he was one of the principal architects of the Treaty of Versailles, where he took a harsh and determined stance against Germany.
