Edward Charles 'Whitey' Ford was an American professional baseball pitcher who played his entire 16-year Major League Baseball career with the New York Yankees. Nicknamed 'The Chairman of the Board,' he was a ten-time MLB All-Star and a six-time World Series champion. Ford won the Cy Young Award in 1961 and was also the World Series Most Valuable Player that same year. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974, solidifying his legacy as one of the greatest pitchers in the history of the sport.
